  1. Received financial assistance of Rs. 13000/- from Gujarat council on Science & Technology, Education Department, Gandhinagar, Gujarat for the Minor Research Project named "Evaluation of some species of Genus Cassia for Hepatoprotective Activity" in February 1991.

  2. Gujarat Council on Science & Technology, Education Department, Gandhinagar Gujarat, have sanctioned the Minor Research Project (for the amount of Rs. 108000/-) named "Evaluation of some Herbal Preparation for their effectiveness on Insulin Sensitivity" for the duration of three years.

APPENDIX 6

Patent Granted by Government of India

Under the Section 11A of the Patents (Amendment) Act, 2002 Patent has been granted for my application no. 493/MUM/2002 for the invention of " Process of preparing an aqueous extract and pills from Enicostemma littorale" which is published in The Gazette of India in sec. 2 of part III on 20th March 2004.

Patent no. 196012 has been awarded and published in the The Patent office Journal on 09/09/2005 in Issue no. 34/2005.

Role Played as a Community Pharmacist

  1. Gujarat Council on Science & Technology, Gandhinagar have financed the seminar for "Management of Important Disorders related with General Health" The seminar was organized at our institute and I was co-ordinator.

  2. Gujarat Council on Science & Technology, Gandhinagar have financed the seminar for "Role of Pharmacist in the Society". The seminar was organized at our institute and I was co-ordinator for the same. An exhibition narrating the ill effects of drugs (Charas, ganja, opium and all the other prohibited drugs) was organized in our institute during this period with the help of Prohibition and Excise department, Government of Gujarat.

  3. Organized Free Eye camp three times in the premises of the college campus.

  4. Free Medical camp for Heart and Kidney diseases was held in our college premises. The Internationally known Doctors like Dr. H. L. TRIVEDI, Director, Institute of Kidney Diseases & Research Centre, Ahmedabad, Dr.Tejas Patel, an eminent Cardiologist having an expertise in Angiography & Angioplasty, from Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad & many other expert Doctors from Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad diagnosed 300 patients and gave them valuable instructions regarding their related diseases. Donations worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs was collected from the society and handed over to Dr. H. L. Trivedi, for the betterment of patients admitted in the Kidney Hospital.

  5. I worked as Liaison Officer & our Students worked as Volunteers on " National Polio Vaccination Days" during different phases.

  6. At the 2nd International seminar on Ayurveda organized by Gujarat Ayurved University held at Jamnagar, Gujarat (India) from 5th to 7th January 2001.

  7. Staff and students presented 25 papers at Oral Session of State Level Competitions at Sarvajanik Pharmacy College, Mhesana (14), Pharmacy College, Kim (03), Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat (02), and Gujarat Science Congress, Surat (06).

  8. Staff and students presented 34 papers at Poster Presentation Session of State Level Competitions at Pharmacy College, Kim (20), Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat (05), and Gujarat Science Congress, Surat (09).
